What You Need to Know

What to Wear

The Atlantic is unpredictable even in summer. Wear windproof, waterproof layers regardless of the forecast. Comfortable flat shoes are fine — no climbing involved. All ages and abilities are welcome on board.

Arrive 15 Minutes Early

Check in at Portmagee Marina at least 15 minutes before your departure. We depart at 10:00, 12:30, 15:00 and 17:15 daily. Your skipper will give a full safety briefing before leaving the pier.

Wildlife is Honest

The coastline is guaranteed. Wildlife is possible. We will not promise you dolphins or puffins — but we will show you some of the most dramatic sea cliffs and Atlantic water in all of Europe, every time.

Everything You Need to Know

Questions

How long is the cruise? +
Approximately 2.5 hours in total. We depart Portmagee Marina, follow the Kerry coastline, watch for wildlife, and return. No landing on any island. Comfortable for all ages and abilities.
What times do you depart? +
We depart daily at 10:00, 12:30, 15:00 and 17:15 from Portmagee Marina. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your departure time to check in.
Is this suitable for children and families? +
Yes — all ages are welcome. There is no climbing involved. We have a toilet on board and wheelchair accessible boarding at the stern. Dogs are welcome too.
Will we definitely see wildlife? +
We are honest about this. The coastline and sea cliffs are guaranteed — always spectacular. Wildlife is possible: dolphins, seals, gannets and seasonal puffins are regularly seen. We never guarantee sightings, but the chance is real and the scenery is extraordinary regardless.
What if the weather is bad on my day? +
Your safety always comes first. If sea conditions are unsafe, the cruise is cancelled and you will be offered a full refund or a free reschedule. Paul makes the call on the morning of the trip.
What should I wear? +
Wear windproof and waterproof layers — Atlantic conditions change quickly even in summer. Comfortable flat shoes are fine. You do not need hiking boots or special equipment for this cruise.
When does the season run? +
The Skellig Coastal Cliffs & Wildlife Cruise operates from 18th March to 1st November 2026, departing daily at 10:00, 12:30, 15:00 and 17:15.

All cruises depart from Portmagee Marina on the Wild Atlantic Way, Co. Kerry. Eircode: V23 TN30. Free parking at the marina. Portmagee village has great pubs and restaurants for before or after your trip.
